GIMP 2.8

The GIMP is one of those applications that people seem to love or hate. While it has always been a powerful alternative and capable of large commercial applications such as Photoshop, GIMP multiple floating window interface has been difficult for some users to adapt.

Good news for those of you who like the program, but simply could not adapt to the user interface: version 2.8 include a selectable single-window mode. As you can see the top model is very similar to Photoshop experience. GIMP hardcore fans do not despair. If you have been convinced that the multi-window mode is a great way to work, you do not have to change.

The GIMP developers have also sought ways to manipulate the images of multiple best in the editor. Here, of course, have been added to Photoshop CS4. Do not expect to see it in GIMP 2.8, however. Peter Sikking offers three reasons in his blog after they have decided not to use tabs, opting for a container of furniture (image after the break).
