GIMP 2.8

The GIMP is one of those applications that people seem to love or hate. While it has always been a powerful alternative and capable of large commercial applications such as Photoshop, GIMP multiple floating window interface has been difficult for some users to adapt.

Good news for those of you who like the program, but simply could not adapt to the user interface: version 2.8 include a selectable single-window mode. As you can see the top model is very similar to Photoshop experience. GIMP hardcore fans do not despair. If you have been convinced that the multi-window mode is a great way to work, you do not have to change.

The GIMP developers have also sought ways to manipulate the images of multiple best in the editor. Here, of course, have been added to Photoshop CS4. Do not expect to see it in GIMP 2.8, however. Peter Sikking offers three reasons in his blog after they have decided not to use tabs, opting for a container of furniture (image after the break).

Clicker

Look, there are many places to find the video online in recent days. And in many respects, Clicker is one of those sites.

Quality content first, in terms of content, it is difficult to find a site with a great list of Web video, including TV networks, episodes, and high from professional and amateur sources. The site is also very easy to navigate. You can search for programs by title, genre or type of media (television, film, web entertainment and music). Or you can start typing in a search box to see what appears. And the results with thumbnail images, start to appear once you've entered a few letters.

Twones like Last.fm

Twones is a little late to the game, since Last.fm has become the undisputed leader of the music track, but this does not mean there is room for improvement. Currently, the site lacks the wealth of information about artists, albums, etc., and most data are from different API (artist bios from Wikipedia, the clips on YouTube, artists Last. FM etc.), so we must be very aggressive to innovate if they want to see a widespread adoption.

Twones is currently in an invitation-only beta, but we have thousands of Lifehacker invites interested readers to try.

MobaLiveCD

Want to try a flavor of Linux or other LiveCD-based installation tool or even without having to leave Windows? MobaLiveCD been updated to include support bootable LiveCD and USB devices.

MobaLiveCD We introduced this time last year, then, is support for disk images LiveCD. Now you can use both LiveCD ISO file and bootable USB devices. In our tests we were able to start a variety of equipment for USB devices such as Ubuntu, GParted, and backhand.

Use MobaLiveCD is much slower than in actually starting the LiveCD / USB and mostly slower than running the same LiveCD / USB in a virtual machine. However, it is free, an absolute dream to use and allows you to quickly check a Linux distribution with minimal complications.
